Mycorrhiza's Full Release is Getting Close! It's Testing Time!

We're almost there!

Are you hyped? I'm hyped! Though "close" in this context doesn't mean this month. There's still lots to do, including rigorous testing, fine tuning and marketing.

So, what's the state of the game?

All the text is written and edited! All audio and art assets are done and implemented! All programming is done!
(Not counting anything that needs fixing that testers discover or any minor adjustments we want to make later.)

If you haven't been following the game's progress on Twitter then here's what news you've missed:

We've teased part of a new intro animation!

We've shared two new CGs!

One from the new alternative route within the second door and one from the upcoming new third door:

The title screen received an updated animation!

We've lifted the mystery where the third door is taking place: Inside a cruise ship!

We've shared some new music tracks!

You might have also noticed that the itch.io page looks a bit different.

What do you think of the new borders? I think they frame the rest of the page quite nicely.

So, what's missing?

Technically the game itself is essentially more or less finished. But there's always more to be done. For us to actually call it finished, it needs to be tested. Ideally by people outside of the development team. This way we can make sure that it runs well on different systems and that we get to hear multiple different opinions on the game. This might take some time depending on how much time our testers need. Especially considering that the game has increased in size dramatically since they've tested the first two demos.

By the way, if you're interested in volunteering as a tester let me know! Especially if you use Mac or Linux or if your computer is old/its specs are rather low. We might be able to hook you up with an early copy of the game! Just write me a PM on Twitter (@MycorrhizaVN) or write an e-mail to contact[at]tim-reichert.com outlining your computer specs. Every bit of help would be appreciated!

Aside from that there is also some marketing that needs to be done. I need to finish a trailer, update the game's press kit and contact people in hopes that they're willing to cover our game on release. The latter will take up a couple extra weeks post-testing stage.

Is there a release estimate?

More or less! I'm still sure that the game can be released in summer, though rather at the end of it. The worst case scenario would be autumn. You'll hear it here first once I have a definite release date! I'll most likely let you know a couple of weeks before the release.
